Thoughts This particular page will always be a work in progress,
because I will be adding to it everytime I think of something new to
jot down. The content of this page will contain basically anything that
I might be thinking about that day. September 2, 2005- I almost got in a serious car accident yesterday. I was on my way to play some basketball and I had to make a left turn into the neighborhood where the park is. I got the green arrow to go and I went. Out of the corner of my right eye, I saw a black celica coming at like 65 mph. For that split second I told myself, "I don't think he's going to stop." I had to slam on the brakes and he had to swerve to the right to barely avoid hitting me. I didn't actually see my life flash before my eyes, but afterward I did think about what would have happened if I had not stopped. It is scary to think about. God must have been watching over me. September 1, 2005- I've had my school computer for awhile now, and I really like it a lot. It came with a 20" widescreen monitor. If I ever wanted to make some sweet home videos, I would definitely try to use this Canon XL2 camera. It even shoots in widescreen which would be perfect for my monitor. August 31, 2005- It's hard to come up with new content for this website. I wish that I had a video camera because then I could do lots of stuff. Right now I'm feeling the effects of boredom. A lot of people have left for school and I wish that I could be off to school as well. They all say that they are having a good time and I sure don't want to miss out on that. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people and making new friends. I think I'm going to play intramural football, basketball, tennis, and possibly ping pong. I should be able to meet lots of people through that stuff. July 1, 2005- Staying in touch with friends from high school is like putting your hand up for a high five: either someone will slap your hand, or you're left hangin'. February 26, 2005- Don't make promises that you cannot keep. February 17, 2005- I want a Mac Mini so bad! I also wouldn't mind having one of these. February 8, 2005- I wonder if the people who voted in Iraq got one of those "I voted" stickers to put on? January 28th, 2005- Happy 21st birthday Brian!
Hopefully you won't get too drunk tonight. I've got a couple of
thoughts to share with you all today. January 10, 2005- I had an awesome Christmas break this year. First I went to Tucson for a week which is always a blast, and then I flew to Draper, Utah with my Youth Group to help out at a local church there and also learn alittle bit about mormonism. A friend asked me while I was on the trip if I could go anywhere in the world, where would I go? I told him that I would go to Tucson, Arizona to visit my family there. My reasoning is this: sure, I could go anywhere in the world and see any amazing natural wonder out there, but that would not be as special as spending some time talking with my family in Tucson. Another friend once told me, "Don't take pictures of wildlife, take pictures with friends. Twenty years down the line, are you going to hold dear the picture of the ocean, or a picture of you having fun with a friend?" I guess that's all for now. Advice: Don't bite the hand that washes the dishes. January 1, 2005- Happy New Year everyone! Take a moment to think about your greatest accomplishments. Now think about what you want to accomplish in the next five years. Now in the next 20 years. Now think about your entire lifetime. Take all those things and ask yourself what they will all mean once you have passed away. Will they mean anything 100 years later? What do you think? Now go and live like you were dying. December 5, 2004- I just had my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday. The procedure was not that bad. I think that I am doing quite well recovering because I am not experiencing much swelling on my cheeks. The thing that sucks the most is that I am not able to eat any solid foods for a week. Ohh...what I'd give for a cheeseburger right now. The holes in the back of my mouth are not going to close for a couple months apparently. Christmas is coming fast and I can't wait to go to Tucson. Here's a question to ponder: Is it better to have one best friend or many good friends? October 30, 2004- School is going great right now. I am having a blast this senior year. I'm feeling a little bit sick right now. This is the second time I've been sick this school year and it sucks. I recently finished my online application to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. This application was for early admissions so hopefully I will get in. Now I have to work on Biola's application and a UC application. I also applied for a scholarship from Target stores. It was a scholarship for community service, so I don't know how good my chances are. I took the SAT for the second time earlier this month and I did much worse this time. 60 pts. lower than last time. I guess you were right Jay, our family is cursed with lower scores the second time. I'll have to tell my kids don't bother with taking it a second time because they are guaranteed to do worse. Presidential elections are coming up in three days. With that said I will leave you with this funny cartoon concerning voting. September 14, 2004- Boy, it has been a long time since I last updated this thing. Well, my senior year has begun and I am having a blast so far. I know that it will be over before I know it. Then I will be on to bigger and better things. Until then here's a thought: The only thing worse than a cold toilet seat, is a warm one. August 26, 2004- Would a world of COMPLETE honesty make
earth a better place, or would it make circumstances worse? August 24, 2004- You know it's time to quit and move on to something else when your best just plain sucks. August 18, 2004- Yesterday marked the end of the 6
month probation time in which I could not drive with anyone under the
age of 20 in the car unless another adult was in the car as well. I
haven't gotten to exercise this new privilege yet. August 17, 2004- I drove for about 4 1/2 hours today to
return home from my vacation to Tucson, AZ to visit some very special
family there. I always enjoy spending time with family. I always find
myself longing for another hour or even another minute to be with the
ones I love. It never ceases to amaze me how much we laugh when we are
together. Gung Gung, Po Po, 2nd bok, Ah-yee, Kev, and Jay, thanks for
all the memories! August 7, 2004- I just returned from a week up at Wildwood
Christian Camp up at Hume Lake. All I have to say is---well I
am speechless. This past week up at camp has been truly a life changing
experience for me. God really taught me how to be closer to him and
some of the things that I need to change in my life to accomplish that.
It would take lines and lines of text for me to explain all of the
things that I have learned this past week, so instead I will share just
one powerful moment from this past week. On Tuesday night, the entire
camp went through an extended "quiet" time. We were encouraged to sit
in solitude with God, and to pray and meditate on his word. So each of
the campers was placed throughout the surrounding areas of the camp in
the forest. One of the staff members explained the purpose of this
extended "quiet" time the best. He said that this week we were going to
hear from a number of different speakers on a number of topics. But
tonight, he said, we were going to listen to the best speaker of all. I
thought about this for a moment and I realized that he was absolutely
correct. How many times, I thought, do we go to our pastors, asking for
them to teach to us what God wants us to know or what does God's word
have to say to us today? Why do we do this when we can go straight to
God himself and ask him directly for his guidance? As Christians, we
are blessed to be able to have this direct communication with God. I
know that I certainly do not spend enough time with God, asking for his
advice on things. After coming home from camp this week I have a deeper
desire to spend more time with God the father, because I know that he
longs to spend more time with me. July 30, 2004- My friend Ryan recently posted a
gigantic message on my guestbook. I fear that my guestbook may turn
into a debate arena for Ryan and Neil to duke it out politically.
Remember that the views expressed in the guestbook are soley of those
who post them, they do not represent the opinions of wongside.com. July 27, 2004- I just got back from visiting UCSD and Loyola Marymount University.
I must say that I am very impressed with UCSD's campus. The student
population is about 18,000 so that's right in there for my range. I
guess I am going to have to decide between Cal Poly SLO and
UCSD. The fact that Cal Poly has such a good reputation for engineers
makes it difficult to decide. July 19, 2004- This might just be something that
happens to me but...why is it that you wake up in the morning when the
sun shines on your face, but if you take a nap during the day, the sun
does not prevent you from sleeping? July 5, 2004- I had a thought the other day concerning
public restrooms. I was thinking about how icky they are and how
whenever I use one, I try to not touch anything and to be as small as
possible. One interesting thing that crossed my mind was how there
always seems to be small squares of toilet paper lying on the ground
all around the bathroom. They're behind the toilet, next to the sink
and a few of them are always wet. Wet toilet paper squares on the
ground are one of the nastiest things in the world. Anyways, I got to
thinking, how do these squares get there? Do people just throw them on
the ground? I mean, is this normal for people to do? Do these people do
this at home, tearing off a couple of squares of paper and just let
them fall to the ground? I mean who does that? Honestly. Also I find it
quite common to come across a toilet that has not been flushed. I have
to wonder about the people guilty of this. Do they do the same thing at
home, just letting it sit there in the toilet? Do they want there
bathroom to smell like that? Who are these people?
